Middle Eastern Inspired Oatmeal Bowl

A delicious and heart-healthy oatmeal bowl inspired by Middle Eastern flavors, designed to support a diet aimed at lowering high cholesterol.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 cup chopped dates
  • 2 tbsp chopped pistachios
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

In a small saucepan, bring almond milk to a simmer over medium heat.
Stir in rolled oats, cinnamon, and cardamom. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until oats are creamy and tender.
Remove from heat and stir in chopped dates and chia seeds.
Transfer oatmeal to a bowl and top with chopped pistachios.
Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired.
