Asian-Inspired Tuna with Heart-Healthy Ingredients

A delicious and heart-healthy tuna recipe inspired by Asian flavors, packed with soluble fiber, plant-based proteins, and healthy fats.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup edamame beans
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and season with salt and pepper.
Grill the tuna steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
In the meantime, heat a small skillet over medium heat and sauté the bell pepper and edamame beans for 3-4 minutes.
Serve the grilled tuna steaks topped with the sautéed vegetables, green onions, and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
