Crispy Strips

Crispy strips that are heart-healthy and perfect for a cholesterol-lowering diet.

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a shallow bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, ground flaxseed, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Dip each tofu strip into the breadcrumb mixture, making sure to coat all sides evenly.
Place the coated tofu strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly spray the strips with cooking spray.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the strips are golden and crispy.
Serve the crispy strips hot with your favorite dipping sauce or on a salad for added fiber.
