Fiber-Rich BBQ Chicken

A delicious and heart-healthy barbecue chicken recipe packed with fiber and plant-based proteins.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (look for low-sugar options)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag and pour half of the barbecue sauce mixture over them. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade and discard the used marinade.
Grill chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Baste the chicken with the remaining barbecue sauce mixture during the last few minutes of grilling.
Remove chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
